Picarat 007 [VIDEO/ACTION IN VIOLET CITY]
[So, the festival is now over and everything around the cities is being cleaned up. The booths has been placed away and the confetti on the ground being swept away. It looks just like what most finished festivals looked like. It even has that usual feeling of nostalgia when you just look around, just thinking about that amazing event. Of course, everything is back to normal, but guess who is still running that little puzzle booth of his?
Professor Layton, that's who!
Well, it is not much of a booth as much as it is just an empty green bench with no one but himself sitting on it. He has returned all the tables and desks he borrowed from the school, and has been now reduced to only claiming the bench next to the Pokemon Center. At least three paper bags is sitting by his feet and a Noctowl perching itself on the bench with him. For those who might remember his Hoothoot, 10 picarats if you can guess who this Noctowl is. It actually has evolved on Halloween when fending off those glitches, but it never left its Pokeball for everyone to see until today. Doesn't it look so much wiser? What a fitting Pokemon to its trainer!
The Professor positions the Pokegear on the empty space of the bench, making sure it is set perfectly, the video shaking around for a few seconds. He nods once he has it set up perfectly. He clears his throat once.]
Hello to all out there. I do hope that everyone had enjoyed the festival. It was quite the event, was it not?
[He waits a few seconds almost as if waiting for a response, but continues.]
Well, for those who came across my puzzle booth in Violet City, I would like thank you very much for visiting. It had greatly overjoyed me to see people interested. I had handed out many puzzles, tea, and picarats during those three days. I am also glad that some people had taken their picarats and exchanged them for prizes, however, it does seem that I have quite a lot of items left over.
[He pans the camera towards the bags at the ground for a few seconds before positioning it back at him.]
I will now offer this chance to those who are in different cities or those who had not exchanged their picarats yet in Violet City to do so. As you may see, my Hoothoot here seemed to have grown quite strong and larger into a Noctowl. Isn't that correct, Walter?
[The Noctowl spreads its wings and gives off a cry. Awww yeah, look how awesome it is now. It seems very proud of itself. The Professor just chuckles.]
For those who have solved my puzzles before but are located other than Violet City, please, select what prize you may want to receive and my Pokemon here will deliver it to you by flying over there. Do not worry about Walter. He has actually offered to deliver the prizes around, so he will be quite fine. It seems as good training for him from his point of view, haha.
For those still in Violet City and would like to exchange their picarats for the prizes, I am located outside the Pokemon Center. Please, do come for a visit. I have some tea that anyone may like to sip with me.
[And when he means sip tea, he means it. It seems like he overbought everything again...But back on topic!]
My prizes here consist of the usual potions, pokeballs, and other supplies. It is mainly what you find in the markets. It may not stand against what Goldenrod's department store might have, but I do hope that I can provide something as a "thank you" for solving all of my puzzles. Unfortunately, I am afraid I cannot deliver the heavier prizes such as the articles of clothing I may have, so my apologizes.
If you have a flying-type Pokemon with you that would rather pick up the prize, that will be quite fine. I am sure that Walter cannot travel all over the place forever.
[The Noctowl stares at the Professor before flying over and sitting right on his hat. Commence flailing! Oh my good Heavens, you are heavy. GET OFF OH MY LORD MY NECK IT'S GONNA BREAK I NEED THIS TO SOLVE PUZZLES AND GO OUT TO DINNER WITH CLAIRE AND FRIENDS OH MY LORD FFFFFFFFFF-- oh hey, it got off after a few seconds of flailing and chuckles and apologizes. He straightens his hat onto his hat once again and clears his throat.]
B-But yes, if you do have a flying-type, it is more than welcome to pick up the prizes itself. Perhaps it will be strong enough to actually carry the heavier prizes? Please, do not hesitate to ask what prizes I may have and if anyone out there is interested in solving more puzzles to earn more picarats, please do ask. I will not be running out anytime soon, so newcomers are also quite welcome! Actually, I have a puzzle I would like someone to solve, so please do give it a try for those who want to:
"A man was found murdered on a Sunday morning. His wife immediately called the police and they questioned the wife and the staff. These were the alibis:
The Wife was asleep.
The Chef was cooking breakfast.
The Gardener was picking vegetables.
The Maid was getting the mail.
The Butler was cleaning out the closet.
Just from these alibis, the police instantly knew who the was the murderer and arrested him or her. Who was it and how did they know?"
[30 picarats to those who solve this one! Add it to your collection and trade it in! Who knows, maybe the Professor has a prize you might find neat!]
(( OOC: fffffff I-I know I'm behind on tags with
profpuzzle ,
usedeverything and
aliapars . I apologize for that. I just been really tired lately from walking everywhere and worrying about what university to apply to and fffff. Don't hesitate to put in your subject what entries/tags I should get to with who, and I'm there! I need to catch up like CRAZY, so I appreciate any help. For the prizes, he does have a great variety and he has a set picarat price for them. Just ask and ye shall receive! Happy exchanging and solving!
EDIT: Dude, okay, who bought Layton five extra icons? Come out here so I can punch you with love. ;; ))

At his introduction she bows politely} Um, my name is Chrome Dokuro. Pleased to meet you, Layton-san.
[She straightens, pauses, then steels herself to walk closer] Um, I'm sorry, I'm not... used to people being so nice to me. It's hard to get used to. [That light blush is back, embarrassed, and lowers her gaze to the ground]
no subject
Ah, is that so? Well, the people here are very kind, and who wouldn't to a wonderful lady to yourself? Please, do not worry about it. Carry your head on your shoulders. You will be fine.
no subject
Um. Luke-san is your assistant? [She tilts her head, grasping for something to talk about and not be an awkward turtle. Her gaze wandered to the Noctowl curiously--a pokemon she hadn't actually seen before now]
no subject
[And the Professor notices the stare at his Noctowl, and so does Walter himself. It flaps its wings a few times and flies in front of Chrome, interested.]
Ah, it seems as if Walter has taken an interest in you, Miss Dokura. Have you ever seen this kind of Pokemon before?
no subject
Ah... I used to have an owl, back home. But I haven't seen an..owl pokemon like this. I have a bird pokemon too, but he's more like a crow?
[She looks to the Professor a moment, hesitates, then looks back at Walter] May I pet you? [probably better to ask the pokemon himself]
no subject
[Walter doesn't say anything for a while, just flying in place. It debates itself for bit before hooting. You can take that as a yes! It's pretty proud of its evolution.]
no subject
{Mukurou the Murkrow is one damn possessive pokemon. Not too unlike the man he's named after. After a moment she pulls her hand away and looks to Layton again] Um, your puzzle... Can I give it a try?
no subject
Hm? Ah, yes, of course. Shall I repeat it for you?
no subject
[SUCH IS HER LIFE. But she offers a small smile and nods] Please.

[Go go! These 30 picarats can be yours!]
no subject
At length she states slowly] Well.. I'm assuming this takes place in, um, England? Then... It'd be the maid, right? Because of the mail...?
no subject
And you are quite correct! The only person with the very shaky alibi is the maid and because of the mail, just as you said. On Sundays, the mail is not delivered, so the maid had nothing to fetch at all but make up an alibi on the spot. Critical thinking is the key to success.
[And please excuse the Professor for a just a minute as he fetches his notebook and pencil to write down the won amount of picarats next to Chrome's name.]
Very well done, Miss Dokuro. You solved that puzzle quite easily. I congratulate you on it.
no subject
[She fidgets a moment, before raising her head again. After a moment of hesitation she moves to...kneel on the ground, hands folded in her lap and looking up at him. Just sitting down next to him would be forward and rude and asking him permission before doing every little thing is embarrassing.]
Um, if you have anymore... I'd like to hear them. I-if you don't mind?
no subject
Yes, of course. I don't mind at all, but please, don't sit on the ground like that. A lady such as yourself shouldn't be doing so. Sit on this bench with me. I will serve you a cup of tea as I share a puzzle with you. [And the Professor outstretches a hand for her to take.]
no subject
I... [ Hesitantly she reaches up and takes his hand, pulling herself up and taking a seat on the bench, brushing her knees off as she does]
Um... [She doesn't know what to say, clasping her hands tightly together in her lap and looking down] Why are you being so nice to me...? You don't even know me. [It's not said meanly or rudely, just extremely confused]
o-oh man, Chrome is so adroable <33333
Ah, is that what has bothering you? Well, as a gentleman, I firmly believe that no matter who the person is, they should always be treated with the respect and kindness they deserve. It does not matter if it is a stranger or not to me, I will treat them all equally. Haha, after all, a true gentleman always places a lady's needs over his own, Miss Dokuro. At least, that is my own philosophy.
[And he smiles, placing a hand on his hat's brim and adjusting it.]
uwaah thank you! ;w; YOUR LAYTON IS SO GOOD MAN I LOVE HIM AAAHH <3333333333
I'm not...used to it. Boss is kind to me too, but I don't know how to deal with it. I know how to handle meanness, I can handle people wanting to hurt me, but.. [But she hasn't had enough experience with nice people. Tsuna, Kyoko, Haru and Ipin might be exceptions, but she doesn't deal with them often enough to grow out of it yet.]
Before, when someone was nice to me, I would run away... I still default to that sometimes, but I'm trying to get better. [Which is why she's fine with her Murkrow tormenting her]
Um, thank you all the same, for being nice to me. Even if I don't know what to do, I appreciate it.
AHH ;o; HERE LET US FANGRIL OVER EACH OTHER'S CHARACTERS ALA;SKDJFDF <33333333
Take one small step at a time. Do not push yourself too much if you cannot. Both the others in Johto and I will be here to help you if you ever need it, Miss Dokuro. Do not feel as if you are a burden. You will never be to me at the very least.
[And after adjusting his hat once again, he places his hands on his lap.]
Well, would you like a cup of tea now, Miss Dokuro? I am sure I can brew one that will warm you right up.
DO YOU HAVE AIM WE SHOULD TALK ON AIM. LIKE YESTERDAY.
[Chrome doesn't reply right away, looking a bit bewildered. Her head swam a little; this was all a bit too much. However, she swallows her anxiety down and nods] Alright...
Oh, um, yes thank you. It's been a while since I've been able to have tea. I-I'll take whatever you think is best...
YES I DO CHECK MY CONTACT PAGE FOR LAYTON MY AIM IS THERE <3
Alright then. Please wait for a few minutes while I prepare it.
[He pulls out his tea set and bag of ingredients from his sling bag. Guess who spent most of his money on this stuff? Yup, this Professor over here, and he knows all of these ingredients by heart. He pulls out some Oasis leaves and a bunch of Brisk Berries, beginning to brew Miss Dokuro the perfect little tea. Of course, it doesn’t take him that long to finish and pour it into a nice white tea cup. This one is an Oasis Berry, very popular among women and children to its very sweet taste. Too sweet for the Professor, but perhaps Miss Dokuro will like it. He holds it out for her on a saucer with two hands.]
Here you are. This is an Oasis Berry. This is one of Luke’s favorites. [Why he added that, he thinks maybe it’ll reassure her that it’s a good cup of tea.] Do be careful. It is quite hot.
/IMS |D
She takes the tea when it's presented to her and blow softly on it, before taking a small sip.] Ah. [Her eye brighten somewhat]
It's sweet. I like it, thank you. [She smiles, a little shy, and tilts her head]
Um, can I try another puzzle?
no subject
Haha, you are quite welcome, and of course. I have quite a lot of puzzles with me in this notebook, so here is another one for you:
"A man wanted to enter an exclusive club, but he did not know the password that was required. He waited by the door and listened in. A club member knocked on the door and the doorman said "twelve". The member replied "six" and was let in. A second member came to the door and the doorman said "six". The member replied "three" and was let in. The man thought he had heard enough and walked up to the door. The doorman said "ten" and the man replied "five." but he was not let in. What should have he said?"
[This one is 35 picarats! Take your time solving it while the Professor takes a sip out of his own Oasis Berry tea.]
no subject
Her brows furrow and she looks down at her tea for a long moment] ...Hmm... Does this have anything to do with clocks, or multiplication?
no subject
Not at all. Do not complicated it. The answer is rather quite simple.
