FOURTH WALL EVENT [VIDEO/ACTION IN GOLDENROD]

[ Ah, another beautiful day in Goldenrod City; the sun is shining, there's a slight breeze, kids are running around to avoid being stomped by robot unicorns, ufos are in the air-- wait a minute... ]

Oh dear, this again...

[ Yup, that time again, where new people appear out of nowhere and everything defies all logic. Honestly, even after this has happened three things, it still never fails to completely blow his mind. Well, most of the time, nothing really happens to Layton on these days, so he's at least safe. So, he's just going to go out and enjoy this nice day of dinosaurs with his Pokemon-- ]

[ --except when he tosses his Pokeballs, it doesn't release his actual Pokemon, it actually releases these things; ]

[ ...what... ]

[ And if that wasn't confusing enough, all six Dittos decide to transform into Layton... Know how no matter what Dittos transform into, they always have dot eyes so you can easily identify them apart from the real one? Well, Layton has dot eyes... ]

Well...

[ Have fun trying to figure out the real Layton out of these seven!! ]

[Clive's just chilling on a Regigigas's shoulder, laying on his stomach and looking around at the city below him. Needless to say, the sight of seven Laytons sticks out to him pretty easily, so he has the Regigigas go over to them.]

Professor?

[What the fuck is this...]

[ All seven Laytons turn their head towards that... giant Regigigas. Holy shit, that's huge. Needless to say, half of the Ditto!Laytons are terrified and cowardly hiding behind the real one. As for the other half, they walk right up, placing their hands on it and going "ohhhhhh, ahhhhhhhhh". It becomes rather clear which one of them is the real Layton. ]

[ He walks on over and looks up. Sheesh, why couldn't Layton get something like that and not six Dittos? ]

Ah, Luke. It seems like you've had a change in your team as well.

[ Because Layton does not remember Clive ever having a Regigigas. ]

[Oh yeah, he can definitely tell them apart now. He can't help but laugh at the Ditto!Laytons, though; they're just so adorable and amusing, not to mention complete opposite of the real Layton personality-wise. Thankfully the Regigigas doesn't seem to mind being touched.]

I sure have! Would you care to join me up here?

[ Join him up there? Well, there certainly seems like there's enough room for more than one person and a good view of the city will be nice. ]

If it wouldn't be too much trouble.

Of course it wouldn't! Bring him up, Regigigas.

[And the colossal Pokémon lowers a hand for Layton to hop on so it can put him right next to Clive.]

[ Layton carefully gets onto the Pokemon's hand, but unfortunately, the Ditto!Laytons quickly scramble onto the hand as well. The curious three finding this as a good chance to take a better look at the Regigigas while the other three are too afraid to be left alone. Well, hope there's enough room for seven Laytons up there... ]

My apologizes, but it seems like the Dittos insist on coming along.

[ Because they are totally not budging from this hand, especially the three that are clinging to Layton... ]

[He chuckles a bit.]

I suppose it's all right so long as they don't fall off...

[Hope they all have good grips, because Regigigas is going to start walking around again.]

So, Professor, how've you been?

[Oh hey look it's your apprentice! As soon as he spots one of the Laytons he hurries over.]

Oh, there you are Professor! I was just coming to...

...uh...

[Oh gosh why are there so many of you.]

[ Oh hey there, Luke. Just... ignore those other six Laytons that are giving goofy :D smiles. The real Layton is certainly trying to... ]

I...was going to ask you a question, but I think I may be interrupting something.

Kwaaah?

[ Whoa, Loosha. Well, this should be both surprisingly and not at the same time. After all, Johto has brought two Lukes and Claire. So Layton goes to greet her with a smile. ]

It's good to see you once again, Loosha.

[ The Ditto!Laytons all crowd up beside her, looking in awe and amazement. ]

They're all identical.

[ And she's not sure if she should be disturbed or not by this revelation. Mind, her encounters with Johto's Ditto population have been few and far between, but this... this is ridiculous, that's what it is. Every one of this guy's Pokémon, a Ditto? Is this because of all the strange things going on or is this guy just that into Dittos? Don't mind her as she turns a keen gaze on the seven Laytons. ]

Alright. Which one of you is the real one?

[ All the Ditto!Laytons crowd around the gear, going "DITTOOOOO :DDDDD" at camera. Layton pulls his gear away from the best he can, finding it difficult to actually get away from his Ditto clones now that they're quite interested in the Pokegear. ]

That would be me.

[ He's the only one without a goofy smile and clearly unamused by this. Johtoooo, just give him back his normal teammmm. ]

I see. Are you alright, sir?

[ Because she hasn't quiet formulated a tactful way to ask whether Johto messed with his team or he's a Ditto enthusiast. Seriously. ]

[[Snap! Here's Emmy with her camera!]]

I say, this is quite the puzzle, Professor! You certainly go all out!

[ Gah, camera. Emmy, a little warning before you snap that thing. Now all the Ditto!Laytons are interested in that and are going to crowd around you to get their grabby little hands on it. Don't let them have it, or they're going to destroy it... ]

I'm afraid I cannot take credit for this. It was all the Dittos' idea.

[ Though he's not too sure if he likes this puzzle... ]

Oh gosh!

[[This is certainly rather weird! Let her Machamp just put her up on her shoulder, then, while she tries to push the ditto!Laytons away. Having four arms is awesome sometimes!]]

Well, I think I solved it...

[ Nooo, why are you pushing them away and taking the flashy thing away :( Well, pushing them away won't work because they're just going to keep coming back and oustretching their grabby little hands. ]

Now, Dittos, leave Emmy alone.

[ NOPE, TRYING TO PUSH AGAINST THOSE ARMS. THEY ARE DETERMINED TO HAVE THAT CAMERA ]

[[Emmy doesn't seem all that bothered, but her Machamp picks her up and holds her up higher, pushing back the Dittos with her other three arms and wearing an expression that can best be summed up with 'D:']]

Are these all your Pokemon, Professor? I've never seen anything like them!

[ Oh c'mon, Miss Machamp. Why can't you shareeeee ]

Not at all. I've only owned one, but it seems as if someone has switched out my team with six of them. How, I am not entirely too sure.

[ Since he keeps his Pokeballs on him at all times. ]

[[Because you're going to hurt her trainer D: D: D: D:]]

A lot of odd things have been happening lately. I've got my scooter back! It just randomly appeared outside my apartment.

It's certainly quite the puzzle!

[ They promise they won't hurt her!! They'll just hurt that camera and destroy it beyond repair... ]

Ah, I've been here off and on. I recently returned from Mahogany Town, and the Lake of Rage! It's so beautiful up there, Professor; I'll have to show you some photos!

[ Oh, Bakura! Wow, when did you get back in Johto? But anyway, the real Layton steps away from the group of Dittos, who all look mighty interested in this new person. ]

Not at all. Just six mischievous Ditto.

[[Sadly, just a driveby for the crazy time weekend]]

Heeeeh, I didn't realize they could mimic people too!

Yes, I wasn't aware of that, either. I suppose that we still have quite a lot to learn about Pokemon.

[ Which Layton doesn't object to because learning new things are always fun! ]

Un! [[a nod]] I don't think there's any way we can ever know everything about them. There's no way there'd be time for that!

[Ruby went outside to play! ~~Or rather, he thinks he did.~~ During his playtime romp around the neighborhood, he happens to notice Layton's ditto playing games with their Transform nearby, and he just laughs.]

Even though ditto only have one move, they're still cool cuz' they really know how to use it well, huh? [Giggle.]

[ A small smile and a nod. ]

They indeed do. It can become very useful in tight situations.

Yeah, but if they're facin' a pokemon that's faster than ditto is, it can be a problem if your team is at a critical moment when they're relying on ditto to perform a move after transforming... [Can he come over to see you guys? You're normal types, and therefore you are Cool.]
